I skipped class to watch the Oscar's today. That's the only good reason i have for myself to skip classes.

Every year, the Oscar's never fail to wow me. Here, are some of the highlights of the event.

Red Carpet Divas

Black is boring?- Black was the safest colour on the red carpet yet many stars still donned on the king of colours and strut theirs stuffs on it. Jennifer Garner(Oscar de la Renta) & Hilary Swank (Versace) shined in black as they had wonderful detailings on the gowns. Laura Linney and Ellen Page looked Dull and washed out on the red carpet. Well, you can't blame Ellen Page as she is rather young and shy. Kudos for trying.

Va-va RED. - RED was the colour for the carpet at this year's academy awards. Every star who wore red shined and gleamed like a real deal hollywood siren. Heidi Klum in Galliano, Ruby Dee in Kevin Hall, Katherine Heigl in Escada and even 15 year old disney sensation Miley Cyrus wore a striking red coloured Valentino gown.

WHAT a COMEBACK!- Last year, the 2 biggest misses (Anne Hathaway & Jennifer Hudson) both came back with a bang at this year's academy award. Anne Hathway knew how well one-shouldered gown fitted her and the colour red could do nothing but complement the colour of her skin. J.Hud stunned everyone with a white beautiful gown that had beautiful detailing on the neck.

Who knew trends?- Celebrities who are actually glamourous and fashion trendy. Cate Blanchett wore a beautiful floral printed dress. Jessica Alba donned on the favourite colour of the runway -purple while many sirens opt for the one shouldered gown. As they say, Greece is the word.

My Best dressed Pick(s) for the night. - Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson, Heidi Klum & Jennifer Garner.

My Worst dressed Pick(s) for the night. - Julie Christie & Tilda Swinton.

Honourable Mentions- Cameron Diaz in beautiful pink & Marion Cotillard in a delicately designed and detailed dress by Jean Paul Gaultier.

The AWARDS.
I was rather upset about the fact that Atonement lost out on every single category except for Best Composing for a Motion Picture. Well, i guess that it's a rather fair night for everyone with every Picture winning at least one award in the night.

Juno- Best Screenplay- Diablo Cody (to think that she was a stripper) you rock!
Michael Clayton- Best Supporting Actress- Tilda Swinton( she was finally recognised as a good and serious actress ) i just didnt want ruby dee or saiorse ronan to win.
There will be Blood- Best Actor- Daniel Day Lewis (like who didnt expect that?)
La vie En Rose- Best Actress- Marion Cotillard- although i had never watched the movie, the less than a minute clip was good enough for me to like her and think that her performance so deserved the trophy. A not so surprised surprised win here.

No doubt was that No Country was the big winner of the night, taking home Best Picture, Best Directors and even Best Adapted Screenplay. One more win for the Coen Brothers in the night would make history.

I would love to see more of Johnny Depp AND WHERE THE HELL IS KEIRA KNIGHTLEY?

Oscars are fucking fun.
